Ideal for Computer
Computers are the ideal devices to be used with this adapter for there are many limitations on other devices:
For phones/tablets:
Stereo sound ONLY, 5.1 surround sound is NOT supported, and since the sampling rate of phones/tablets can not be changed manually, intermittent sound is likely to occur due to sampling rate conflicts between DACs/AMPs and phones/tablets if the DACs/AMPs can neither manually switch the sampling rate nor automatically adapt to the sampling rate the phones/tablets.
For partial-featured USB devices:
Most USB ports on TVs are for data transfer only, and most USB ports on cars or speakers are for regular music files (MP3, MP4, etc.) only, all of these devices cannot process SPDIF audio signals.
Prepare for 5.1 Surround Sound
Prepare for 5.1 Surround Sound
This adapter can NOT convert stereo sound into 5.1 surround sound, it can only transfer stereo/5.1 surround sound from your computer to your DAC, AMP, or soundbars that can decode SPDIF signals, so you’ll need a computer, a 5.1 music/movie file, a medial player that can decode 5.1 files (Kodi player, etc.), a 5.1 audio system and a little bit of setup to get 5.1 surround.
The key to perfect 5.1 surround sound is to make sure the adapter is set as the default direct output device in the media player and your computer's sampling rate is per your DAC/AMP/sound bar.
